The Millennium Development Ambassadors initiative was launched by Teachers Without Borders, an international NGO with chapters in over 100 countries, in response to the United Nations Millennium Declarations in New York in the year 2000 and the formulation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), which are meant to guide the developmental agenda of all member nations of the United Nations to bridge the global development divide and to make the world a better place for all by 2015. In order to provide the legislative back up for the implementation of the MDGs, Teachers Without Borders is proud to announce a special project tagged “Parliamentarians for Millennium Development”. Parliamentarians for Millennium Development are Millennium Development Ambassadors who are legislators (former and present) with the passion to make laws for the realization of the MDGs.
